Wrestling night

On Monday and Friday nights the boys wrestle. It is fun to watch them take people down, and fun to watch dad yell help in the middle of a practice match. Somthing really funny happened last night though. Atticus needed a kid his size to practice take downs. He and another boy turned around and saw each other at the same time. You could see their little five year old eyes sizing each other up. Finally the other kid said " do you want to..?" Atty shrugged, " Sure". It was really cute.

Satchel... almost nine!

Satchel is turning nine on February third. He is really tall, in fact, in the ninetieth percentile!
He is going to have a party with his friends, and I will take more pictures then.
The night of his birthday we are having a dinner with some friends that was already planned.
We will probably celebrate there, plus have his cake, and favorite dinner the next night.
So much fun for just one birthday. He is sure special enough though.

Couple of weeks ago, this tree went down into the road from across our house. Everyone was driving across our lawn.
Our power went out for about 12 hours, from 5 in the morning to 9 at night. It was freezing cold, but we met with some friends for our homeschool co-op, so it wasn't really bad. Just when we got home.
